Aris Affairs Photography, family photographer in Prescott, shares tips for great pet photos

Aris Affairs Photography, family photographer in Prescott, can capture amazing photos of your pets.
We photograph the people and places we love, so of course we photograph our pets! But taking an Instagram-worthy photo of a hyper animal can be difficult. They may not be avoiding the camera like people do, but they definitely aren’t posing for it either. Aris Affairs Photography, family photographer in Prescott, has some tips to get great shots of your pets.

Use Treats
Maybe this one is a no-brainer, but animals love food and won’t take their eyes off a treat if it's in front of them. Use that to your advantage and hold the snacks next to the lens or wherever you want them to be looking.

Use Props
Put your puppy in a bowl or your hamster in a tube. Props help pose the animal and give the photo a sense of action and variety. Plus, having a toy just might make them sit still for the length of a shutter click.

Dress Up
Don’t roll your eyes, there’s nothing cuter than an animal in a costume and you know it. You don’t need to go to any extremes here, just put your glasses on your dog or have your cat wear a bow tie. It’s never not going to be cute.

Use Natural Light
This isn’t just for pets either. Natural light is always going to be better for photos than a camera flash. So turn off the flash and open a window. Don’t go too crazy though, full sunlight can be just as difficult as a flash.

Get In There Yourself
Your pet is yours, so photos are going to be more interesting if you are in them, too. It highlights the family aspect of having a pet even if your face isn’t shown.

The best way to get a great shot of your best friends, though, is with a professional photographer. Aris Affairs Photography loves freezing moments in time between you and your pets. Schedule your pet or family photo session in Prescott today by calling 928-642-4049. Visit our gallery at http://www.arisaffairs.com.

Aris Affairs Photography, family photographer in Prescott, shares why you should have professional maternity photos

Aris Affairs Photography - Maternity photos in Prescott
Many pregnant women have recently been hiring professional photographers for a photo session during the last couple of months of pregnancy. Aris Affairs Photography, family photographer in Prescott, explains why it is a good idea to have a professional photographer take your maternity photos.

People have become very creative in the 21st century. When you are getting ready to have your baby, one of the things you should add to your “to do” list is to get maternity photos taken. Here are some reasons why:
  • Capture the sense of anticipation. Pregnancy is such an exciting time, but as the years pass, you might forget the thrill of what it felt like to be expecting. Those emotions should be captured! You will be glad you did.
  • Freeze that moment in time. With a new baby many changes will be introduced to your life experience. So, since things will never be the same, capture the “right here and now.” It's probably been a while since you had any family photos taken. What an opportunity to get images of life before everything changes - and capture the special times afterwards as well!
  • Celebrate. Your pregnancy is a special time. A professional photography session will help you celebrate and make you feel beautiful. Pictures standing sideways and from different angles using different backgrounds will help you to cherish the celebration.
  • Reminisce as a couple. How did you two meet each other? As you reminisce about that, some of the best images will be captured. Pregnancy is a time to look back on the wonderful experiences that led you to become a family. Photographs will honor the institution of family whether it is your first or sixth baby.

Aris Affairs Photography, family photographer in Prescott, would love to take your maternity photos. Before the time gets close to your last two months of pregnancy, call Aris Affairs Photography at 928-642-4049 to discuss your photo session. Aris Affairs Photography, family Photographer in Prescott, describes the best newborn photo sessions

Aris Affairs Photography, family photographer in Prescott, can expertly capture in photos the precious first days of your newborn's life.
When is the best time, and how is the best way to get great photos of newborns? Aris Affairs Photography, family Photographer in Prescott, discusses the best newborn photo sessions.

When it comes to inquiries about our newborn sessions, we suggest you schedule a shoot before the baby is 12 days old. Couples usually ask us why, and we completely understand, but we assure you, we have important reasons for doing so.

Safety first
When newborns are awake and moving muscles, it is not safe to pose them in many of the newborn poses that make your photos precious. To get those special and unique shots, your baby needs to be still and sleeping.

Day five is a perfect day.
Your baby is still used to being in the womb and will not mind while we’re curling them into those cute and lovely poses. They’ll be calmly sleeping while we carefully put your baby into mom or dad’s arms or onto our blankets.

As newborns get older, they get used to being out of the womb, and they will often wake up when being moved around. The shoot may then be more uncomfortable and strained from all the different poses we’ll be doing during the photo shoot.

After about two weeks, babies begin to move their muscles but lack control of movement. The pushing, twisting and stretching does not lend itself toward a cute photograph. Watching your baby explore movement can be wonderful, but it is usually not camera friendly. The movements will often be awkward, resulting in less than ideal photographs.

If you pass the 12 to 14 day window, it may be best to wait until babies are around four months old and are able to easily lift their heads and smile while lying on their bellies. Ideally a session within the first 12 days followed by another session several months later is the way to go!

Aris Affairs Photography, family Photographer in Prescott, hopes these tips for the best newborn photo sessions is helpful to you. As the time draws near for your baby to be born, call Aris Affairs Photography at 928-642-4049 to discuss your photo session. Visit our gallery and learn more at http://www.arisaffairs.com.

Aris Affairs Photography, Prescott family photographer, shares tips on photographing newborns with their siblings

Aris Affairs Photography, family photographer in Prescott, can capture your growing family with newborn/sibling photos.Photographing your newborn baby with their brand new big brother(s) or sister(s) for a photoshoot may come with a few challenges. Aris Affairs Photography offers some tips that can really help make your Prescott photo shoot enjoyable for everyone.

A key factor in getting siblings to cooperate in your newborn/sibling session is to give them choices. Since beautiful, natural and non-posed images are often the most treasured, siblings who feel forced to do anything may respond by doing the exact opposite of what you want them to do.
Most siblings are more cooperative at the beginning of the shoot, so that's a great time to get their shots done. By photographing them first, you may be circumventing any jealousy issues over the new baby.

Timing

If a sibling isn't quite up for it, it's okay to let them go into another area and come back when they're ready. In the meantime, your photographer can take pictures of the other siblings, your newborn and even mom and dad. You might find that the attention given to the other siblings will draw the reluctant one back to the action. Pressuring a child to return might get them back but their resentment may very well find its way into your pictures, which no one wants. Having a conversation with them prior to the shoot and showing them how much it means to you to include them can go a long way toward preparing them for the event.

Don’t forget safety

Here are a few ways to keep everyone safe:

  • With mom and dad on the sofa or bed, they can remain out of frame and still watch out for the baby’s safety.
  • Include mom and dad in the pictures with the younger siblings and toddlers.
  • Take advantage of the older, stronger siblings who can safely hold the baby while mom and dad are watching out for the toddlers.
  • Swaddle the baby for extra protection and make him or her a little easier to hold.
  • Include pillows to pose your baby while the rest of the siblings gather themselves around him or her.

That’s it! A little preparation, a little safety, a newborn, some siblings and mom and dad - and beautiful photos at the end of it all! Are you ready to book a newborn/sibling session? Call Prescott family photographer, Aris Affairs Photography today to schedule your appointment at 928-642-4049. Aris Affairs Photography talks about wedding party photos for your Prescott wedding

Aris Affairs Photography can beautifully capture the memories of your Prescott wedding.
Does every niece, sister, sorority sister, and cousin want to be a bridesmaid at your wedding, but there are only three groomsmen attending? Don’t worry! This is an awesome opportunity to make your Prescott wedding interesting and fun. Aris Affairs Photography wants to give you some great tips to make your lopsided wedding party work for you.

The photos
Stagger the smaller group of either bridesmaids or groomsmen among the larger group. If you have more groomsmen than bridesmaids, divide the men up into small groups and then distribute a bridesmaid or two per group. The bridesmaids’ dresses can add a pop of color among darker suits.

The procession
Skip tradition a little bit! Instead of pairing up every bridesmaid with a groomsman, have two groomsmen walk one bridesmaid down the aisle. Vice-versa, if you have more bridesmaids than groomsmen, let the ladies walk in groups of 2-3 and have some groomsmen walk individually.

The ceremony
All eyes will be on you, the couple, so don’t worry if your wedding party isn’t even! The most important part of this moment is that all the special people in your life are standing by your side when you both say, “I do”. To deter attention from your party, you could have most of the attendants positioned at the altar before the ceremony begins.

Organizing your wedding party doesn’t have to be tricky! Use these tips to make sure your Prescott wedding is just what you imagined. You shouldn’t have to stress about anything on your big day. Trust expert wedding photographer Aris Affairs Photography to come up with some great ideas to capture your uneven wedding party beautifully. Aris Affairs Photography, your local Prescott family photographer, shares why photographs matter

Aris Affairs Photography, local Prescott family photographer, can capture the beauty of your family in photos and turn life into art.
When you ask people what possessions they would rescue from their burning house, one of the most frequent answers is photograph albums or their digital images. Prescott local family photographer, Aris Affairs Photography, shares why photographs matter.

Here are some reasons that photography is important:

Photographs are part of our legacy.
A couple of generations may pass, then an old photograph might surface among papers in an attic. Someone might search for granddad among the fresh young faces. Photographs freeze moments of our lives in time. A photograph may seem to have little importance to us at the time it is taken. However, it may be of great significance to others in the future. Pictures will reveal to future generations the person we once were or the places we once knew. They can be like pieces of a jigsaw that help put together the larger picture of our lives.

Photography makes us artists.
Photographs are the expression of ourselves through an art form. Each of us will have a different reason to express ourselves, yet we all have this zeal to create something.

Photography moves us!

Photographs have the power to grab our attention and speak straight to our emotions. We can learn lessons from photographs about the whole range of the emotions of human life.

Aris Affairs Photography recognizes the importance and value of family photograph, and we want to help you express yourself, leave a legacy for your loved ones, and make your life experiences memorable. Aris Affairs Photography, your local Prescott professional photographer, shares fun holiday photo ideas

Aris Affairs Photography can capture your Christmas memories with holiday photos in Prescott. The Holiday Season is officially upon us which means you're probably about to gather the family for your annual family portrait. Good news! Aris Affairs Photography, your local Prescott professional photographer, would like to offer these fun and creative ideas to help make this year's family holiday photos your best.

Pose like your kid's family drawing
Do you have your child's favorite family 'portrait' on your fridge door? Have fun recreating your little one's view of the family.

Take advantage of the fall
If you can't rely on a beautiful new winter snow backdrop, take advantage of fall's glorious colors and have fun tossing those brilliant autumn leaves into the air to capture some childhood magic.

Transplant the sofa
Temporarily relocate your sofa outside to the back porch, deck, or even into the backyard for a casual but intimate family portrait. Add a Merry Christmas banner with a few festive holiday lights to top off the look.

Frame the family
Play with an empty frame by trying out different poses. Let your youngest ones pose in front or squish your whole family together behind the frame.

Use props
Props give holiday photos a unique twist. Period outfits, an all-hat look or loads of jewelry can make holiday photos really memorable. Don't forget, bigger and brighter can be a lot of fun!

Say it with words
Choose a word that perfectly describes what your family or holidays mean to you then ask each person to hold a letter of that word.

Be decorated
Let the little ones have a ball decorating the parents or grands like a Christmas tree. The images will be enjoyed and treasured for years.

Stop by a tree farm
Your local tree farm can provide an idyllic setting for just about any holiday photo.

Sharing news
Let your loved ones, friends and distant relatives in on any news with a bright and cheery chalkboard message. Whether it's the parents, grandparents, or the youngsters holding the chalkboard, this little detail makes a regular picture extra special.

Aris Affairs Photography wants to help you make this year's holiday portrait your most fun and memorable. To schedule your Prescott holiday photo shoot, call us today at 928-642-4049 or visit us at http://www.arisaffairs.com.

Aris Affairs Photography, your family photographer in Prescott, offers tips on photographing people and their pets

Aris Affairs Photography is your professional family photographer in Prescott making art out of life.
Pets are members of the family! So when we think of a family photo, we don’t want to leave out our four-legged family members. Aris Affairs Photography, your family photographer in Prescott, offers tips on photographing people and their pets.

Yes, our pets are family members, but they just seem to refuse to sit still for a photo session. They turn into a blur on camera. Here are some tips on getting great pictures of people with their pets:

The photographer should know the pet. When taking a portrait of you with your pet, knowing your subject goes a long way.
  • What might make the pet sit still?
  • How can you get the pet to look into the camera?
  • What unique personality traits might you be able to capture on camera?
  • Would you like to capture a mischievous moment or a more obedient image of the pet?

If you are having a professional photographer take a portrait of your pet, talk with the photographer ahead of time to convey an understanding of the pet’s temperament and plan accordingly.
Use treats and toys. The trickiest most difficult part of animal photography may be that pets don’t understand posing instructions like other subject matter. Tasty treats and a few favorite toys can go a long way in getting pets to remain still or look in a certain direction. Even untrained pets will often turn their heads towards the smell of that special treat! And, realize that pets do not need to be perfectly still for a professional photographer to capture great photos!

Shoot from their eye level, not your own.

Pet portraits are all about the eyes. Usually, planning the shoot to get down on the animal’s eye level will create more personal pet pictures.  This will bring out the unique personality of your pet and draw out a more intimate perspective. If you shoot from your own eye level, the pet will look smaller and it will be harder to get your pet’s eyes into the shot.

Aris Affairs Photography, your family photographer in Prescott, can help you capture great photographs of people and their pets. To schedule a photo shoot with your pet, book an appointment today by calling us at 928-642-4049. Visit http://www.arisaffairs.com to view our galleries and get more information.

Prescott family photographer, Aris Affairs Photography, suggests photos you should take before your kids grow up

Let Aris Affairs Photography, your professional family photographer in Prescott, capture the life events that you will cherish forever.
Our kids grow up so quickly! It is important that you enjoy them as much as you can during their younger years. Prescott family photographer, Aris Affairs Photography, suggests some of the photos you should take before your kids grow up that will forever be cherished. Here are some of the most essential moments to capture:
  • The simple things they love. For children, everything is new and everything is adventure. Kids often find fun in even the simplest things. From blowing bubbles in the summer breeze to catching lizards, you can capture beautiful moments by snapping photos of them enjoying the fun things of a typical day.
  • Sleeping. You may not have thought about it, but you will be pleasantly surprised at the photos you can capture while your kids are sleeping. You’ll get quite a contrast with the photos you take when your children are full of energy and active.
  • When they are creating. Take photos of your kids coloring, drawing, building projects with blocks, molding clay, painting rocks, and even taking things apart – yes, that’s creative!
  • With their favorite sources of comfort. Young children often cling to a source of comfort like a teddy bear, stuffed animal or a security blanket. Capture these moments while you can – it will probably only be a span of two or three years. Taking photos of your kids with these objects that they love and cling to will preserve great memories for the future.

Aris Affairs Photography, your local Prescott family photographer, talks about the importance of family portraits

Aris Affairs Photography, your local family photographer in Prescott, can create a family portrait that you will treasure forever.Aris Affairs Photography, your local Prescott family photographer, embraces the idea that professional family portraits are important to every family. There are a number of reasons we feel this way, and we think you will agree. Professional portraits are one way to create a great family experience for you!
  • The number one reason we believe you should make time for family pictures is that you really see the value of them after you have simply have forgotten to have them. When a family member moves to another area or if there is a death in the family, you think: “I wish we would have had some family portraits done!” We’ve heard numerous stories of families who look through the photos they do have and wish they had more memories in family portraits. Your parents will not be here forever. Your children will grow up. Life is short. Capture the memories now. They will become family heirlooms.
  • Creating family portraits is actually fun! Many clients have given us feedback, telling us how much they enjoyed the photo session experience. They have described it as a time during which their family has bonded. Families don’t always make enough time for fun family experiences: this can be one.
  • Family portraits will boost the self-esteem of your children! This has been proven by psychologists. It is psychologically healthy for your children to physically see your family as a cohesive unit. They then view themselves represented as a valued member of that unit. Your children grow up knowing that they belong and are loved.
  • Family portraits as wall art make your house a home. And while mass-marketed art pieces are available in many retail outlets, there are no better subjects to place over your mantel or in the dining room than your family. There is no better feeling than hanging up a beautiful picture of the people you love and value most in this world.

Aris Affairs Photography, your local Prescott family photographer, believes that professional family portraits are important for your family. To schedule a family photo shoot, call us today at 928-642-4049. Learn more about us and see our gallery of photos at http://www.arisaffairs.com.

Aris Affairs Photography, your local Prescott wedding photographer, answers: Are engagement photos really needed?

Let Aris Affairs Photography create your wedding story beginning with your engagement photo shoot in Prescott.
He proposed and you said yes! Now the planning begins. One of the questions that arises is whether engagement photos are necessary. Aris Affairs Photography, your local Prescott wedding photographer, is convinced that engagement photos are extremely important for many reasons.

An engagement photo session is not just about having photographs to mark the occasion. Here is why it is much more:

  • An engagement session starts with a celebration and a romantic, special period of time in the lives of you and your partner. It is also a great time to learn about your photographer and for your photographer to learn about you as individuals and as a couple. This, in itself, is a good reason for an engagement photo session.

  • By having your photographer photograph your engagement and your wedding day, a story unfolds. A good photographer will provide consistency in this story from the engagement to the wedding day.
  • Practice makes perfect! Unless you’re a trained actor, it can be hard to suddenly be in front of a camera and feel relaxed and simply be yourself. A good photographer will have many tips and tricks to show you both how to loosen up and not just kiss. After shooting the engagement session, the couple will feel all the more comfortable on the big day.

By getting in front of the camera and having fun with your partner, your wedding experience will be more relaxed and comfortable. Your wedding photo album should be beautiful, fun, and exciting. Plus, it should tell a story from your engagement through your wedding day. Engagement photos are the beginning of your story. Make sure to get your ideas together, and call your local Prescott photographer, Aris Affairs Photography at 928-642-4049. Aris Affairs Photography shares tips on how to best capture your maternity beauty during your Prescott photo shoot

Trust Aris Affairs Photography, your local Prescott family photographer, to capture your maternity beauty
The best time to capture yourself in a professional photo is when you are at your very best. Guess what - no matter how you feel, pregnancy is that time when you have the most natural feminine beauty, and it is a special time of huge expectation. Let Aris Affairs Photography help you to capture your pregnancy with tips that will help bring out your beauty in the best possible way for your Prescott maternity photo shoot.

Who?
Just because someone owns a professional level camera and has some weddings under their belt, does not mean they know how to make an expectant mother look her best on film. Make sure to choose a photographer like Aris Affairs Photography that actually specializes in maternity photos, as they will be familiar with the right lighting, angles, and posing. And, there are so many “right” ways to capture your pregnancy, so study the styles and make sure that is what you are after.

What?
It is worth the few dollars to schedule a professional hair and make-up session. Remember natural beauty is what you are after.

Discuss with your photographer what to wear. She will have many suggestions based on the types of photos you will be taking. Perhaps you want a couple of looks. Most maternity photographers may even have dresses in their “prop” collection that will suit your style, so before going out and making an expensive purchase, discuss this with your photographer.

When?
Twenty-six to thirty-two weeks along is the best time to plan your photos. You want your belly to be full, but posing is still an option. Obviously, each mamma is diffent, so just judge where you are, you will know.

Where?

Location is important. Do you want an outdoor springy photo? Weather is important and time of day, as you will want the lighting to be just right. Or, do you want a soft hue in the comfort of your home? If you are going to do the shoot at home, it may make sense to invite your photographer over for suggestions prior to the shoot. Of course, the studio is an easily controllable environment, too.

How?
We probably do not have to suggest this, but get familiar with maternity poses that fit you and your personality. Our job as the photographer will be to capture that special bond, but it will help if you have some favorite poses that you have seen.

If you are coming up on that window of time when your maternity photos will be the very best, contact Aris Affairs Photography, your local maternity photographer in Prescott, and let us help you capture this special time in the most beautiful way possible. To schedule an appointment please give us a call at 928-642-4049. To learn more about our services, please visit http://www.arisaffairs.com.

Family photographer in Prescott, Aris Affairs Photography, Recommends Bucket List for Baby Photos

For quality family photography in Prescott, contact Aris Affairs Photography
Summer is coming and it’s your first summer with a little one. Your local family photographer in Prescott, Aris Affairs Photography, knows how important it is to capture baby’s first year. Here are some memories you can make with your baby. You’ll want to preserve these moments with photos to treasure for a lifetime.

Get Messy - She’s never squished sand between her hands before, she’s never made a mud pie and she’s never splashed to her heart’s content at a water table. Each adventure can create its own mess, but that will be overshadowed by the amount of fun it creates.

Blow Bubbles - Why not spend an afternoon daydreaming and watching bubbles float on the breezes. This is a super-cheap way to mesmerize your little one, and a great way to spend time together.

Dig In - Pick up a shovel and a bucket and let your kiddo work on his eye-hand coordination. He can dig in the sand at the beach, scoop up some water, or shovel at the playground. Afterward, stroll by a local construction site for a little free, baby-friendly entertainment show put on by backhoes and cranes.

Water Baby - Pool, ocean, or bathtub: anyplace you can let your little one relax and splash, do it. Summer is the perfect time for baby’s first swim and to sign up for a mommy-and-me swim class. Not only is it a fun activity, but it will help keep your baby more safe around water for the rest of his life.

Talk with Animals - Visit some wildlife: at a big zoo, a local petting zoo or even the neighborhood dog park. You just might meet your baby’s new best friend. And little ones are fascinated by the sounds the different animals make.

Bottom line, this is a special time for you and your baby. Make the most of it and be a part of it. You might also want to capture your little one at this stage in their life with a mini photoshoot from your local Prescott family photographer, Aris Affairs Photography. Time passes too quickly for most of us, so as your baby grows, take time to capture this precious stage of life. Aris Affairs Photography Offers Tips For Taking Pictures of Kids in Prescott

Aris Affairs Photography offers tips for taking pictures of kids in PrescottNatural looking pictures of kids always bring smiles and memories. But often those pictures we want to take to capture a moment just don’t turn out the way we want them. Aris Affairs Photography, your professional family photographer in Prescott, would like to offer a few tips for taking pictures of kids.

Timing - As the old adage goes, “Timing is Everything”. Deciding to take pictures of kids during their normal nap time will be nothing but frustrating. Or if a child is not feeling well, your chances are slim of getting the picture you want. Plan pictures for the time that is best for your child.

Have fun - Kids are not comfortable sitting still - so get down to their level and make the photo time fun! Kids are much more likely to smile when they’re having a good time.

Remove distractions - Maybe it’s an older sibling, the dog or cat, or the dirty socks on the floor. You’ll also want to make sure that there aren’t distracting objects in your picture--like a picture frame right behind the child’s head. Make sure things distracting to you AND the children are removed from the area.

Dress up
- Kids love to play dress up so why not use that an excuse to get some great pictures? Somehow dressing up can really bring out the ham in your child! And while you’re at it, why not get involved with the fun yourself - maybe plop on that old rainbow wig or funky hat?

Motion - The animation of a child is part of the wonder. Make sure your camera has the ability to capture the split second image you are looking for and have it set up properly so you don’t miss the moment!

Position
- Make sure you understand how light affects your pictures. To bring out the sparkle in their eyes you will want to make sure you use the light properly and you are also aware of shadows.

Although these tips will help you capture better pictures of your family, the experience of a professional photographer is one thing that most people don’t have. A professional photographer understands how to work with kids to get them to relax, have fun and show their spirit. They also have the proper equipment to stop action and they know how to use the camera settings to get exceptional pictures, even when the kids are running at full tilt.

To capture those special moments with the kids, and for professional family photography in the Prescott area, please contact Aris Affairs Photography at 928-642-4049 for more information or to schedule an appointment.
