First step of the Engagement...the photo session!

What do you most people think about when they get engaged?  Well, after the tears and excitement, they think about how to share the news.  Most likely you are going to tell the people that you are closest to first.  Then you will call friends and family, and then you will take pictures and send them out to everyone you now in the form of an announcement. 

Aris Affairs Photography would like to offer you some things to think about when prepping to do your engagement announcement.

Some photographers offer an engagement session with their packages. So, if you already have a photographer in mind give them a call. You might not need to pay an arm and a leg to get your pictures. Some wedding photographers may even throw in some announcements with a package as well!

Next, if you are on a very limited budget, look for someone who is just starting out.  You may even be able to get free pics if you just give them the model release to use the pictures online. 

Or…

Take them yourself. Sure, they wont be the same as a pro but if you love them then what’s the problem.  Do what’s right for you.  Save the wedding photographer for your big day!

After the session is scheduled what do you do next?  Think about what your going to wear.  Color coordinate.  It is best to wear colors that are in the same family.  If you like bright colors both of you should wear bright colors.  If you like soft muted tones then find some close that complement each other.  Pick out a few looks and bring them all if you’re not sure.  This way you can show them to your photographer and they can help you choose.

Most of all…Have fun!  This is when you will get to know your photographer.  Make sure you get along and that you will feel comfortable with them following you around on your wedding day!
